Data Protection: Parents can also choose which personal data is shared in Pokémon GO.
Child Safety: This new platform was developed by the Niantic team in collaboration with SuperAwesome. This is a kidSAFE program that focuses on the safety of children.
What advantages are there? This ensures that children’s information is protected while they enjoy the game.
Trainer Club: If the child is currently logging in with a Trainer Club account at Pokémon GO, this will still be supported with Niantic Kids.
Can children under 13 trade through this?
What does this mean concretely? In the community, people are now asking which features parents could allow or disallow for their children. After all, there are some restrictions.
Accounts of children under 13 currently cannot see sponsored PokéStops. The friends feature and trading do not work for accounts of too young players.
No details so far: Niantic has not yet explained which functions and features the new platform will affect. It is rather unlikely that sponsored stops can be displayed for their children due to likely legal hurdles.
