The Pokémon GO developers have now commented on recent rumors regarding the Apple Watch port. Allegedly, development has been halted.
In recent days, a rumor circulated about the compatibility between Pokémon GO and the Apple Watch. Among other things, 9to5mac reported that work on this project has been put on hold. The developers of the popular app Pokémon GO officially deny this.
The rumors are not true
Already in September, Pokémon GO was presented for the Apple smartwatch. A video introduction showed what the game was supposed to look like on the Apple Watch. At that time, the developers said that the project “Pokémon Go goes Apple Watch” was to be released in 2016.
Since the announcement, the developers have not published any significant information on this topic. After the rumors that the project had been put on hold, there has now been an official statement from Niantic.
Pokémon GO for the Apple Watch will be released soon. However, no further information has been provided.
In a blog post from September 7th, it was stated, “Pokémon GO will be available for the Apple Watch later this year.” So we can look forward to whether the developers will keep their word and release the project this year.
