This is the season: The new season is called “Max Out.” In German, it will be called “Dyna-Maximum”.
The major feature of the season: The title hints at it already: The Dynamax phenomenon is the major feature of the new season. Here, Pokémon transform into gigantic versions of themselves – and you can challenge them.

When does the season run? The season starts on September 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM. It ends on December 3 at 10:00 AM.
Trailer for the season: The season trailer also showcases the Dynamax phenomenon, but that’s not all. The trailer also features the long-awaited debut of the Galar monsters.
Galar monsters in the new season of Pokémon GO
Trainers have been waiting a long time for a proper release of the Galar region, as most monsters from this generation are still missing besides a few exceptions and have even been surpassed by the Paldea region in the meantime.
But now the debut of some of them is imminent.
First Galar monsters: They will appear on September 3rd, with the event “GO big or go home.” We will encounter the starters, their evolutions, and the Grolldra line:
- Chimpep
- Chimstix
- Gortrom
- Hopplo
- Kickerlo
- Liberlo
- Memmeon
- Phlegleon
- Intelleon
- Grolldra
- Phandra
- Katapuldra
- Raffel (Shiny debut)
- Wolly (Shiny debut)
Additionally, Humanolith will debut in the United Kingdom.
Legendaries: The trailer also features Zacian and Zamazenta, which were in the game some time ago, but have not appeared again for a long time.
Research about Galar
A special research will start, in which you must choose your partner Pokémon. This will likely be Chimpep, Hopplo, or Memmeon. The research will feature different branches.
Bonuses of the new season
You will receive several bonuses throughout the season.
- More XP for 7-day PokéStop series
- More XP and Stardust in 7-day catch series
- More XP at new friendship levels
- One more trade candy
- One guaranteed XL candy when trading (from Trainer level 31)
What else is known about the new season in Pokémon GO?
- Battle League: There will be significant changes. All details can be found in the article about the changes in PvP.
- Other monsters: You will encounter different monsters in the wild, in eggs, and elsewhere as well. You can find the full list on the Pokémon GO blog (via pokemongolive.com).
- Events: We start with the Community Day featuring Ponita on September 14. Other Community Days will take place on October 5 and November 10.
- Research breakthrough: You will encounter Galar-Smogmog, Galar-Pantimos, Stalobor, Zurrokec, Coiffwaff, or Miniras.
