February 18 has been an interesting date in recent days for fans of the augmented reality game Pokémon GO . Photos of promotional posters in the Höfe am Brühl shopping center are circulating on social networks. The posters noted February 18 for a special event that the developers officially confirmed today.
On this day, additional new PokéStops and gyms will be established in 58 shopping and destination centers. German shopping centers are also included.
Shopping centers become giant gyms
In the coming days, Niantic will release the Pokémon from Generation 2 in Pokémon GO. For this occasion, the developers have already increased the duration of lures and are offering additional bag spaces at 50% off in the shop. This way, you will be well prepared for the hunt for the new Pokémon from the Gold and Silver editions. Additionally, you can catch the Pokémon in warmth when you are near one of the new partner shopping centers.
On February 18, Pokémon GO will establish new PokéStops and gyms in 10 countries alongside the first European partner “Unibail-Rodamco”. These new stops and gyms can then be found in 58 shopping and destination centers. “In each destination center, 10 – 15 new PokéStops and gyms will be added in public areas, social meeting spots, and freely accessible artworks.”
To celebrate this partnership, Unibail-Rodamco will hold special Pokémon GO events at a total of 20 locations in Europe on February 18. Competitions will be part of these events, where trainers must track down Pokémon. Furthermore, lures will be active all day to facilitate the search for new Pokémon. The locations in Germany and Austria with the special events are:
