Best friends now active: At the beginning of the week, Pokémon GO announced the new feature and began rolling it out worldwide. Now the new friendship level Best Friends
has also arrived here.
You can check if the feature is active for you in your friends list. There should now be an additional heart available for your friendship level. This needs to be filled through interactions.
It is especially worthwhile to reach the new friendship level, as it gives you the opportunity for remote trading.

How do I reach the friendship level Best Friends
?
Basically, you need to collect 90 friendship points from the level Best Friends
. The friendship points work like the old level system, you receive them through:
- Sending / opening gifts
- Trading
- Fighting together
You can earn one point per day. Additionally, you can earn 7 more points per week if you complete weekly challenges together.
The first best friends could be reached in about 45 days if you start with your current best friends now.
What bonuses do best friends bring?
The new friendship level has several bonuses for you.
- You deal even more damage together in raids and arenas
- You receive a total of 4 additional Premier Balls after joint raids
- Trading with best friends costs less stardust
- You unlock remote trading
The most important information about remote trading
Once you reach the level of best friends, you can trade remotely with each other. Here’s how it works.
- You assign the new day for remote trading to Pokémon you want to trade
- Your friends see your possible trade Pokémon and vice versa
- You both choose up to three Pokémon you want to trade and send this as a wishlist to the other trainer
- Both choose one Pokémon from the lists
- In the end, both must agree to the trade
Important: You only receive one remote trade at a time. Once that is used up, you must earn another remote trade by accumulating 90 friendship points.
