Trainers notice that the field quests in Pokémon GO have been adjusted to match the water event. Now you will be rewarded with a Magikarp when you catch two Water-type Pokémon. We will show you which quests are new and what rewards you get for successfully completing them in this overview.
Field Research for the Water Festival
The Pokémon GO community from TheSilphRoad has compiled the new quests and confirmed that there are six new tasks available for trainers. These are available to you during the water festival and can be found at PokéStops.
You will be rewarded for completing them with Pokémon encounters like Magikarp, Wailmer, Shellder, and Kingler, as well as rare candies or stardust.
Water Festival Quest Overview
- Catch two Water-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Magikarp (Max CP: 94)
- Use three berries to help catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Wailmer (Max CP: 610)
- Battle three times in a gym
- Reward: Encounter with Shellder (Max CP: 410) or Kingler (Max CP: 1154)
- Hatch an egg
- Reward: Encounter with Shellder (Max CP: 410) or Luvdisc (Max CP: 472)
- Win a raid
- Reward: A rare candy
- Use five berries to help catch Pokémon
- Reward: 500 stardust
Can the encounters also be with Shiny Pokémon? Reddit users report that they found their first Shinies through these encounters. So the quests are worth it for the Shiny collectors among you.
What does the event bring? The water festival in Pokémon GO runs until June 21. Water-type Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild, and you receive triple stardust when you catch them. Additionally, special 2km eggs are available, which can include Lapras.
