In Pokémon GO you can redeem a new promo code since February 17. We will show you how it works here.
What kind of code is this? The code was introduced as part of the current local Sinnoh tour in Los Angeles, but can be redeemed by all players. It is:
- 0HY0UF0UNDM3
Important: These are zeros (0), not the letter “O”.
What you need to consider: Even Android users must go through the webshop to redeem promo codes and can no longer enter them in the game itself. Recently, Pokémon GO changed this. We describe how it works below.
What does the code bring? If you redeem the code, you will receive a time-limited research named “Global Hyperbonus: Spirit in the Device”.
At the end of this research, which recently appeared for some for a short moment, you will encounter the Pokémon Rotom. This is a Ghost and Electric type Pokémon from the fourth game generation. The time-limited research can be completed by Sunday, February 25, 6:00 PM.

The research has only one step: Once you receive it, you need to catch 30 Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Sinnoh region. Once you have done that, you will receive the following rewards:
- 10 Rotom candies
- 479 Stardust
- 479 XP
- A Rotom encounter
Some players report (via reddit) that Rotom can even be shiny with luck. However, it is still unclear whether this bonus only applies to players who have a ticket for the local Sinnoh tour in Los Angeles, or if everyone has a chance at the shiny.
How do I redeem the promo code for Rotom in Pokémon GO?
Both Android and iOS users must now register in the webshop if they want to redeem codes for Pokémon GO. To do this, follow these steps:
- Copy the promo code
- Visit the redemption page in the webstore (to the Pokémon GO webstore)
- Log in with your account that you use for Pokémon GO
- A Pokémon Trainer Club account must be linked to one of the other providers
- Enter the code and switch back to the game
Now you should receive the new research in the game. Note: It is possible that it takes a few seconds for the time-limited research to appear for you. In that case, wait a moment or restart the game to get it.
