A huge wave of EX Raid invitations now allows trainers to fight Mewtwo in Pokémon GO. Niantic continues the roll-out.
Anyone who wants to fight Mewtwo in Pokémon GO must be invited to an exclusive raid. Since the Pokémon GO developers at Niantic are still testing this feature, not every trainer can participate yet.
Last night, invitations were sent out generously, and many of you can now look forward to a battle against the legendary monster.
EX Raids at regular gyms
Last week, the EX Raids were first expanded to Europe. After initially only America and parts of Asia received invitations, trainers in Germany now also have the chance for these special battles. It quickly became clear: This initially only affected sponsored gyms.
On the night of today, September 27, the invitation areas were expanded. EX Raids are now also taking place at non-sponsored gyms!
As Niantic already explained at the launch of the “field test” for EX Raids, the test areas are to be gradually expanded. This aims to give more and more trainers the opportunity to participate in the tests until they are finally fully activated and more gyms qualify for it.
In our Pokémon GO group on Facebook, trainers are already exchanging information about the new invitations. Many trainer groups received the coveted invitations last night, including Jonathan K. and his trainer friends. On Facebook, he sent us a screenshot of his EX Raid invitation for October 1:
Not every gym is included
Unfortunately, the new invitations have not yet reached more trainers. The feature is still being tested and is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Then, many more trainers should get the opportunity to participate in these special battles.
In an email newsletter, the Pokémon GO team writes: “The EX Raid battle field tests are in full swing. Thousands of players worldwide have been invited to battle Mewtwo, and many more trainers will follow in the coming weeks. Go out and participate in raid battles in the gyms around you to have a chance to battle Mewtwo!”
The Solstice event is currently running in Pokémon GO and rewards you with special 2km eggs. These Pokémon can be hiding in the special eggs.
