Niantic has confirmed the exclusive move of Metagross for the Community Day in October in Pokémon GO
Community Day with Beldum: In just a few days, on October 21, the new Community Day will take place. This time, the day revolves around the Steel/Psychic Pokémon Beldum from the 3rd generation. The evolution Metagross can learn the special Steel move Meteor Mash on this day.
Metagross can learn Meteor Mash
Niantic usually waits some time before announcing the special move. It is always revealed just before the Community Day. However, data miners found early first hints about the Meteor Mash move.
Can be learned even after Community Day: This time, players can also teach the special move to the Pokémon even after the three hours of the Community Day. Up to one hour after the event ends, Beldum can learn the move Meteor Mash upon evolving into Metagross. Until now, players had to evolve the event Pokémon during the three event hours to learn the exclusive move.
What can the new move do? Meteor Mash is a charged move with two bars.
The community speculates: The move will make Metagross better. The best moveset of Metagross so far was Bullet Punch and Flash Cannon for Steel type. This could be replaced by the new move Meteor Mash.
With the moveset Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash, Metagross will be a good all-rounder.
Information about Community Day
When does the Community Day start? The Community Day starts on Sunday, October 21, at 11 AM and runs for three hours. Players can still use the hour afterwards to evolve to Metagross.
The date for the Community Day in November has also been set.
What bonuses are there? Beldum will spawn everywhere. It is the special Pokémon of the day. The lure modules will last three hours again, and trainers only need to walk a quarter of the distance to hatch eggs.
Shiny Beldum? As in previous Community Days, trainers will likely have the chance to obtain the shiny form of the event Pokémon.
