The list of field research for March 2019 is here. In Pokémon GO, you can now expect many Shinys and a new Spinda as rewards.
Niantic did not change the field research for this month. Shiny hunters are in for a treat, as a large part of the research revolves around shiny Pokémon.
The tasks are popular tasks from 2018. You will also get another chance at Pokémon for the Meltan Quest, making it easier for you to complete them.
List of Field Research in March 2019
This is what the research is about: Normally, the quests revolve around a special type. However, Niantic has selected the highlights from last year for January and February 2019.
The quests have also been maintained for March. So we have the same quests for 3 months.
In addition to the field research, there are also some legendary Pokémon that were present in 2018, from the research breakthrough.
This gives you a chance to encounter rare Shinys and complete tasks from previous months. However, some new tasks are also added. These quests await you:
Hatching Eggs
- Hatch an egg
- Reward: Encounter with an Owei or Snubbull (can be shiny)
- Hatch 3 eggs
- Reward: Encounter with a Magmar
- Hatch 5 eggs
- Reward: Encounter with a Chansey
Catching Pokémon
- Catch 1 Dragon type Pokémon
- Encounter with Dratini (can be shiny)
- Catch 5 Pokémon with weather bonus
- Reward: Encounter with a Quapsel or Vulpix
- Catch 10 Pokémon
- Encounter with a Houndour or Magikarp (both can be shiny)
- Catch 10 Ice type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Kabuto (can be shiny)
- Catch 5 Fighting type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Magnemite (can be shiny)
- Catch 10 Ground type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Sandshrew (can be shiny)
- Catch 7 Flying, Psychic or Dark type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with an Anorith
- Catch 5 Electric, Normal or Poison type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Starmie

- Land 5 great curveball throws in a row

Gym Battles & Raids
- Fight in a Raid
- Reward: Encounter with a Gyarados (can be shiny)
- Win a level 3 Raid or higher
- Reward: Encounter with an Omanyte or Kabuto (both can be shiny)
- Win 5 Raids
- Reward: Encounter with an Aerodactyl (can be shiny)
- Win a Gym Battle
- Reward: Encounter with a Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle (all can be shiny)
- Win 3 Gym Battles
- Reward: Encounter with a Roserade
- Win 5 Gym Battles
- Reward: Encounter with a Lapras
- Fight in a Gym
- Reward: Encounter with a Mankey or Machop
- Fight 5 times in a Gym
- Reward: Encounter with Machop
- Use a very effective Charge Attack in 7 battles
- Reward: Encounter with an Electabuzz
Using Berries
- Use 10 Razz Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Magikarp (can be shiny)
- Use 5 Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Growlithe (can be shiny)
- Use 5 Silver Pinap Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Trubbish (can be shiny)

- Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms
- Reward: 5x silver Razz Berries
- Trade a Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Electivire
- Use Power-Up 5 times

- Evolve a Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with an Eevee or Sunflora (both can be shiny)
- Send 2 gifts to friends
- Reward: Encounter with a Gastly (can be shiny)
- Earn 5 candies by walking with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with a Tentacool
- Send 3 Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Vulpix
- Evolve a Pokémon using an item
- Reward: Encounter with an Aerodactyl (can be shiny)
Field Research Yields Numerous Shinys
The field research in March is a paradise for Shiny hunters. Almost every quest offers a chance at a Shiny.
These Shinys can be obtained: The list of possible Shinys is long. The quests offer you shiny forms of Pokémon such as Growlithe or Kabuto, Pokémon that are not frequently found in the wild.
The Ground-type Pokémon Sandshrew can also be obtained from one of the field research tasks. This has only been available globally in shiny form since December and is quite rare in Germany outside of nests.
New Spinda Form Number 2
A new form of Spinda awaits you in March. The form with the number 2 is new to the field research this time. You can obtain this Spinda from the quest “Land 5 great curveball throws in a row.”
This is what Spinda looks like: Like any other Spinda, this one also has red spots on its face. The Spinda with the number 2 is primarily characterized by a large spot above its face. In the picture, it is the second Spinda in the top row.
