Another Spotlight Hour is coming up in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO has looked into what to expect and whether it is worth it.
What is this event? A Spotlight Hour is a short, 60-minute event that features at least one Pokémon and is accompanied by a bonus.
During the Spotlight Hour on October 14, 2025, Lilminip will be waiting for you. This Pokémon is from Generation 5 and is of the Grass type. It can evolve into Dressella.
Spotlight Hour on October 14, 2025 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the short event kicks off at 6:00 PM. It ends again after an hour at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? If you catch Pokémon during the event, you’ll receive double the amount of Stardust for it. It doesn’t matter which Pokémon you catch. The bonus applies to every catch made within the 60 minutes.
Can you catch Shiny Lilminip? Yes. If you’re lucky, you might also encounter the Shiny version of Lilminip. However, the chance is not increased during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Lilminip and Dressellia are not particularly strong attackers, which means they are not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. For battles in the competitive leagues, you should consider other Pokémon.
You can use the event’s bonus to earn some extra Stardust. If you also use Star Pieces, you can further increase the amount. Without a Star Piece, you will receive 200 Stardust, and with the item, 250 Stardust per catch.
If you still have Pokémon rewards from research, you can also catch these with the event’s bonus. This is particularly worthwhile for Pokémon that generally give more Stardust per catch.
