In Pokémon GO hints of a new Raid Week have been found. A data miner discovered special quests for this event in the game’s code.
What was found? Under the name “Raid Week 2019”, a total of 3 field research tasks related to raids were found.
This suggests that a new Raid Week is just around the corner. Which Pokémon will be the focus of this event is still unclear.

The quests are: The tasks are all easy to solve if you do a lot of raiding. The rewards are still unknown:
- Win a raid (easy)
- Win X raids (medium)
- Win X raids (hard)
What is known about Raid Weeks: Such an event is actually nothing special. There was such a week with Latios recently. During this week, raids with a special Pokémon appear more frequently. So far, the Pokémon could always be encountered in its shiny form.
What is special about Raid Week 2019: It is interesting that the tasks were found under the point “Raid Week 2019”. After all, there were already several Raid Weeks in 2019, so such a classification doesn’t really make sense.
So it could be that a very special event is waiting for us or that these tasks apply to all Raid Weeks in 2019.
These are candidates for the Raid Week: A Raid Week usually brings back an older legendary Pokémon and gives you the shiny form.
The hottest candidate for a Raid Week is Rayquaza. After all, this Pokémon is not yet available as shiny and was last catchable during a raid weekend.
Many players are eager for this shiny. Additionally, Kyogre and Groudon, which together with Rayquaza make up the weather trio, are already available as shiny in the game.
Other candidates include legendary beasts Raikou, Suicune, and Entei, as well as the regional trio Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. There are also no shiny forms available in Pokémon GO for these.
