Dynamax in Pokémon GO has been officially introduced. We show you all the known info about the feature so far.
Pokémon GO has introduced the new season “Max Out”. The big new feature of the season is called Dynamax. After there were already leaks, the developers have now officially presented the feature for the first time.
What is Dynamax? The Dynamax phenomenon was introduced in Pokémon Sword & Shield. It causes Pokémon to take on gigantic forms. In the main games, you could challenge these in Max Raids. Additionally, there are “Gigantamax” variants of some Pokémon in the main games, which not only make them huge but also transform them into a different form.
Another special feature is the Dynamax attacks – special moves that only Dynamax Pokémon can use.
However, Niantic had to adjust the feature for Pokémon GO a bit. Here’s a summary of how it will be implemented in the mobile game.
How Dynamax works in Pokémon GO
Basically, the GO version of Dynamax is also about gigantic Pokémon. The first details are now known.
Energy sources will be added to the map in addition to PokéStops and Gyms. There, you can encounter Dynamax Pokémon. But: You must first collect “Max Particles” by visiting Power Spots.
Then you can participate in “Dynamax Battles,” where Dynamax Pokémon can also participate. These battles are expected to be quite challenging. You should train as much as possible and work together with your friends.

Which Pokémon are the first Dynamax monsters? They will be:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Raffle
- Wooloo
They are expected to appear in one-star Dyna Raids, in line with the “GOgantisch” event on September 10, 2024.
What else can we expect? Apart from the Dynamax feature, the season will bring many other contents. The next big thing are the Galar monsters: they will finally appear for the first time in Pokémon GO. This includes Raffle and Wooloo, which we already listed in the Dynamax overview. Additionally, we expect new events, more Pokémon, and similar things. Another exciting innovation was already introduced by Pokémon GO: Morpeko, which will bring a form change.
