A mod for GTA 5 allows you to throw Poké Balls at passersby to make them fight for you!
You can also feel the “Pokémon GO” hype in GTA 5 and experience interesting adventures by catching NPCs or passersby. To catch a “passerby Pokémon,” you first need to weaken it, similar to the original Pokémon titles. In GTA 5, you strike your desired target with your fists until you think it’s weakened enough. Then you throw the Poké Ball and hope your “Pokémon” doesn’t escape.
Cops as Pokémon in GTA 5
You can catch many different types of passersby and NPCs in GTA 5 and add them to your collection. This includes cops. When weakening the cops, you should keep a close eye on your health bar – they don’t like to be caught and are quite stubborn, like Ash’s Pikachu. Once you have them in your collection, they will fight on your side.
In the video, you can see how much fun it is to catch NPCs and then fight. As you can hear in the YouTube video, the mod creator InfamousSabre did not originally intend to finish this mod. However, he wrote in the mod’s comments 4 days ago that he is looking for people who can convert Pokémon models to GTA 5 models. Apparently, the “Pokémon GO” boom has led to a surge in downloads recently, and the creator found new motivation to work on the mod again.
So far, there are only 6 Poké Balls available in the game, and you need to reload the mod to receive new balls. With the newfound motivation mentioned, it may be possible that the first updates will soon be available to fix such issues. You can download the mod on this website.
