You want to trade Pokémon in Pokémon GO? Then Sunday could become your favorite day from now on.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO? A new season, “Stories of Transformation,” has begun in Pokémon GO, and with this new time of year comes some special bonuses.
One of them: Starting from September 7, which is today, there will be special trading bonuses every Sunday.
For the first time, you can utilize these today. The bonuses are as follows:
- You will receive an additional special trade every Sunday
- Trading costs 10% less Stardust
- You have an increased chance of a lucky trade
- And there are 2 XL candies for every trade
Especially the last point is quite exciting, as XL candies are otherwise not so easily obtainable. However, the lower trading costs are also helpful (while other events might go even lower, watch out for our event overview for September).
The increased lucky chance is great too. Reminder: Lucky Pokémon have lower costs for leveling up and generally have better stats.
Why should I trade in Pokémon GO?
Basically, many players trade to obtain Pokémon they do not have yet. A new Pokédex entry? A missing Shiny? A regional Pokémon that is not available around the corner? These are all popular reasons for trading. But there are more points that can be useful.
- When trading, the values are re-rolled. The higher your friendship level with the trainer you are trading with, the better your chances of getting good stats.
- You always have a chance for a lucky trade.
- Some Pokémon are free to evolve when traded.
- Trading increases your friendship level, which can bring a lot of XP.
- You get candies and XL candies.
- There are medals in the game that you earn through trading.
- Especially older Pokémon from before 2019 have a lucky guarantee, up to a certain limit of trades. More about this here.
