Prepare for the developments of Generation 4
There are rare Pokémon among them: Recently, Niantic gave a hint about the fourth generation in Pokémon GO. So far, we do not know when they will make it into the game. However, since some rare developments are among them, it is advisable to start collecting candies as early as possible. The double candies can be a great relief if you encounter a rare species. Electabuzz (Elekid), Magmar (Magby), Shuppet (Duskull), Sneasal (Weavile) and Drifloon (Drifblim):
These Pokémon are also quite rare in the wild. However, they all appear in nests. If a nest with these Pokémon appears in your area, you should visit them and secure double candies for these rarities.

Snorunt (Froslass), Roselia (Roserade), Yanma (Yanmega), Magneton (Magnezone), Swablu (Altaria), Glalie (Froslass), Rhyhorn (Rhydon):
These Pokémon hardly appear in most biomes. Biomes determine which Pokémon or type of Pokémon appears at the fixed spawn points. However, they appear a bit more frequently in their own biomes – especially when they receive a weather boost of their own type. For a grass-type Pokémon, that would be sunny/clear.
Trapinch (Vibrava), Tangela (Tangrowth), Skorupi (Drapion):
These three Pokémon also rarely appear in most biomes. Only that they are additionally rare in their own biomes and the weather boost contributes little to their spawn.

Porygon (Porygon-Z) and Togetic (Togekiss):
These Pokémon are extremely difficult to find in the wild. Here you have the greatest chances when hatching eggs. For this, you also get the double candy bonus.
Boosting meta-relevant Pokémon
From level 30, the candy costs for a power-up are quite high: If you have progressed further in Pokémon GO, you want to use the double candies to strengthen meta-relevant Pokémon. Pokémon in the meta are either good attackers or defenders in gyms.
Geodude and Machop: Have strong evolutions with Golem and Machamp. Golem is a strong attacker in Zapdos raids. Machamp is currently the best fighting Pokémon.
Larvitar and Chansey: Tyranitar is one of the strongest Pokémon in GO and Blissey is a feared defender. Especially for Tyranitar, you will need a lot of candies to maximize its strength.
Use raids for maximum candies: You will receive the most candies from catching during raids. Golem, Machamp, and Tyranitar will drop 20 candies until the end of the event (July 23). Using Razz Berries, you can even get more.
These Pokémon from the fourth generation could become relevant for the meta in the future.
Reduced hatching distance is beneficial for candies
Hatching Pokémon also brings double candies: You should activate your incubators during the event, as this also increases candy production. For this event, it is advisable to use the Super Incubator, as the distances are drastically reduced. You also increase your chances of encountering Pokémon like Togepi, which you can only obtain through hatching.

Use Razz Berries: If you have these berries in stock, use them during the event. They quadruple the candies you can earn from the event. For example, with a basic form, you get 3 candies. With the event, that becomes 6 candies, and by using the berry, you get a total of 12 candies.
This means you can get 40 Larvitar candies at once for strong Pokémon like Tyranitar. It’s worth it!
