On Sunday, June 6, 2021, the Community Day with Kaumalat will take place in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO shows you all the bonuses and reveals how you can make the most of the event.
What is a Community Day? The Community Day occurs regularly once a month and always focuses on a different monster. This Pokémon will spawn significantly more during the event period and can even be caught with an increased shiny rate.
In addition, there are always one or more bonuses that make the Community Day even more exciting. And in June, there is a Community Day that many players have long wished for: The dragon Pokémon Kaumalat is the star of the upcoming event.
Community Day in June 2021 – Start Time and Bonuses
When? On Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time
Pokémon of the Day: Kaumalat will appear much more frequently in the wild
Exclusive Move: Earth Power
Bonus: Triple Catch XP
Bonus: Incense lasts for three hours
Bonus: Lure Modules last for 3 hours during the event
Bonus: You can evolve Knarksel into Knakrack up to 2 hours after the event to learn the move Earth Power.
As usual, you will have a total of six hours on Community Day to secure a whole bunch of Kaumalat. With items like incense, you can also easily play from home and still get enough spawns to catch a strong specimen.
What’s in the In-Game Shop: Also in the shop, there are the contents usually found during Community Day.
- For one euro, you can receive a special research task related to Kaumalat.
- And there is a Community Day Box for 1280 PokéCoins, which includes 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Incense, 5 Lucky Eggs, and one Elite Charged TM.
How to Make the Most of Community Day
Make these preparations: Kaumalat is a Pokémon that is firstly really strong, and secondly was extremely rare in the past.
Therefore, you should ideally go into Community Day with a lot of balls to secure a good specimen and gather the necessary candies for its evolution.
We recommend having at least 350 balls on hand so that you don’t suddenly run out during Community Day. This way, you can catch Pokémon for a while without needing to spin PokéStops much.
It’s also worth clearing out the PokéBox before Community Day to make space – otherwise, the box will eventually be full. This way, you won’t have to sort through the caught monsters in between but can focus on catching.
These items are worth it on Community Day: The bonus of the day grants you triple Catch XP, which means three times the amount of experience points for each Pokémon caught. If you activate a Lucky Egg, it doubles the amount of XP for half an hour. This way, you can also benefit from leveling from every Kaumalat you catch.
Additionally, it might be worth bringing a good supply of Razz Berries. These can double the Kaumalat candies when you catch one.
Lastly, it’s worth using incense. It lasts for three hours during the event and ensures that you are regularly supplied with spawns. One incense lasts three hours – with two, you’re equipped for the entire Community Day.
How worthwhile is the Community Day? The Community Day with Kaumalat is very worthwhile, as this little dragon has been one of the rarest monsters in the past. If you don’t have one yet, you should definitely take advantage of it.
Additionally, Knakrack, its evolution, is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. You should secure good specimens, especially since it is possible that Mega Evolution for Knakrack will come to the game in the future. The event move Earth Power is also very useful. You can find a closer look at Knakrack with Earth Power here.
Furthermore, Kaumalat is a dragon Pokémon. Monsters of this type are usually rare, but you need them, for example, for the Shiny Mew research, where you need to catch 30 dragon-type monsters, or for the dragon medal. For such tasks, the Community Day with many spawns is well-suited.
Shiny Kaumalat, Knarksel and Knakrack
This is what the Shinys look like: Shiny Kaumalat is easy to recognize due to its significantly different coloring.
The chances of encountering a shiny variant of the event monster are significantly better on Community Day than usual. In past Community Days, the shiny rate was about 1 in 25, while it was about 1 in 450 outside of events. If you want a shiny Kaumalat, you should make the most of Community Day.
