In Pokémon GO it is always the rarest to have a Pokémon with 100% IV. But how rare is the chance of that?
These are the Pokémon in question: Each Pokémon has its own IV. These can vary between 0% and 100%. A Pokémon is strongest when it has 100% IV.
The chance of getting such a Pokémon is, however, very low. In most cases, it is even rarer than finding a Shiny. But what exactly is your chance?
Your chances of 100% IV
Here a distinction must be made: There are various ways to obtain Pokémon. Each method also has a different chance of getting a 100er, as the minimum values of the IV vary. We show you the respective probabilities:
| Method | Minimum of all values | Probability |
| Lucky Pokémon | Every value at least 12 | 1 in 64 |
| Crypto Pokémon with weather bonus | Every value at least 4 + 2 by redeeming | 1 in 64 |
| Crypto Pokémon without weather bonus | Every value at least 0 + 2 by redeeming | 1 in 153 |
| Eggs/Raid bosses/Quests | Every value at least 10 | 1 in 216 |
| Trade with best friend | Every value at least 5 | 1 in 1331 |
| Pokémon with weather bonus | Every value at least 4 | 1 in 1728 |
| Trade with ultra friend | Every value at least 3 | 1 in 2197 |
| Trade with super friend | Every value at least 2 | 1 in 2744 |
| Trade with good friend | Every value at least 1 | 1 in 3375 |
| Pokémon in the wild | Every value at least 0 | 1 in 4096 |
So who is lucky in the wild and catches a 100% IV Pokémon without a weather bonus theoretically had to click on 4096 Pokémon.
When comparing this to the shiny rate in the wild, which is 1 in 450, 100ers are significantly rarer.
How do I best get Pokémon with 100% IV? The best chance is unsurprisingly through trading. But also Crypto Pokémon have good chances for a 100% IV Pokémon, as each monster receives a boost of 2 in every value after redemption.
The friendship level can also increase the probability. So if you exchange diligently every day, you should do it with best friends. That’s where the probability of getting a good Pokémon is highest.
