For the Halloween event, Pokémon GO is rising in app stores. Are you playing again?
In the last few weeks, the augmented reality game Pokémon GO has had a tough time. After the initial hype surrounding the game faded, the player numbers declined somewhat. Nevertheless, many trainers are still playing the game, utilizing new features like Buddy Pokémon and the catch bonus. The current Halloween event has revived the hype somewhat. In America, the game is back at the top of the highest-grossing apps in the app stores. But even in Germany, Pokémon GO is well on its way to a top ranking.
More Pokémon events wanted?
The Halloween update in Pokémon GO was well received by many trainers. Positive feedback from players has been seen, for example, on Facebook and Reddit. Players are excited about the frequent appearance of spooky Pokémon and the increased number of candies they are rewarded with. These bonuses are offered by the Halloween update of Pokémon GO. After the app lost some places in the “highest grossing” category in Germany, Pokémon GO is back to second place since the update. Currently, Clash Royale is in first place.
With such events, Niantic could also gather points with Pokémon GO players around the world in the future. The various bonuses bring more fun into the game and give reasons to go on a Pokémon hunt and collect candies. It is conceivable that Niantic plans such events more often throughout the year (for example, at Christmas or Easter). For Easter, developers could hide additional Pokémon eggs at random PokéStops or reduce the required kilometers for hatching. The Halloween update shows that some fans are indeed fond of these events.
