What kind of event is this? This year, there will again be a Halloween event in Pokémon GO. The first part of the event starts on October 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM and runs until October 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
After the first hints about the event were recently released, we now have all the information about the first part of the event.
Included is a Pokémon with a new ability, a new Dynamax monster, two monsters with an increased shiny chance, as well as more exciting bonuses and content. We have summarized what to expect.
All Pokémon of the Event
Which Pokémon is making its debut? Morpeko, the Electric and Dark-type Pokémon from Generation 8, is making its debut in Pokémon GO. And it comes with a special ability that has not yet been available in Pokémon GO: It can change its form during battles.

What Dynamax monsters are there in the event? In the Halloween event, you can find, defeat, and catch Nebulak in Dynamax battles for the first time. Alongside this Pokémon, you will also encounter more monsters in Dyna battles.

Which monsters have an increased shiny chance? If you defeat Nachtara in raids or encounter Zorua in the wild during the event, you will have an increased chance for them to appear as shiny in these encounters.
Which Pokémon are in the wild? There are several Pokémon lurking in the wild, waiting to be caught by you. These include the following:

Which Pokémon are in raids? There are several raids during the event where you can defeat and catch the following Pokémon:

Additionally, there will be field research where you can earn Mega Energy as a reward. You can earn Mega Energy for the following Pokémon:

Bonuses and additional content of the event
What bonuses are available during the event? The following bonuses are active during the event:
- double the number of candies when catching Pokémon
- higher chance for XL candies when catching Pokémon with nice, great, or excellent throws (starting from Trainer Level 31)
- increased chance for shiny Nachtara in raids and shiny Zorua in the wild
Free limited research: You can also look forward to a free limited research during the event. This starts with the event and can be completed until November 3, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
The research is about the Pokémon Kryppuk and rewards you with this Pokémon as well as encounters with Morpeko.
Paid limited research: In this event, there are 2 paid limited researches that you can purchase. The first costs $5 (approximately €5), must be completed by November 3, 2024, at 8:00 PM, and includes the following content:
- triple the amount of candies when catching Pokémon
- encounters with event Pokémon such as Pikachu with Witch Hat, Kryppuk, and Morpeko
- encounters with event Pokémon in the second part of the Halloween event such as Froxy with Witch Hat and Bauz with Halloween Top Hat
- a Morpeko bodysuit as avatar item, depending on your chosen path
The second limited research that you can purchase costs $2 (approximately €2) and rewards you with various costumed Pokémon:

This research must also be completed by you by November 3, 2024, at 8:00 PM to receive all rewards.

PokéStop Showcases: You can also participate in PokéStop Showcases during this event. You will need event-related Pokémon for this.
Decoration and Music: The backgrounds during Pokémon encounters as well as at PokéStops and Gyms will receive colorful Halloween decorations during the event.
Additionally, there will be music playing in the game that is reminiscent of the Lavender music from the main series games.
Packages in the web store: The web store of Pokémon GO will also be adjusted for the event. Starting from October 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM, you can purchase a bundle with various contents for $4.99, $39.99, or $99.99 (prices in € will be similar).
