The next Community Day in Pokémon GO is coming up. We will show you how to make the most of the event.
As every month, there will be a Community Day in July 2025, where you can participate in Pokémon GO. This time, you can find Kwaks, the Water starter Pokémon from Generation 9. It can evolve into Fuentente and then into Bailonda.
During the event, the Pokémon will appear not only in very high numbers but also with a significantly increased shiny chance and some additional strong bonuses.
We have compiled how to optimally utilize and prepare for the event.
Community Day in July 2025 with Kwaks – Start & Bonuses of the Event
When? Sunday, July 20, 2025 – From 14:00 to 17:00
Exclusive Move: Charged Move Hydro Cannon for Bailonda, if you evolve it during the event or in the following week

– Increased shiny chance for Kwaks
– Tripled Stardust when catching Pokémon
– Double candy for catching
– Double chance for XL candies from catching Pokémon from level 31

Bonuses until 22:00 local time:
– One additional special trade
– 50% less stardust cost when trading
Additional content of the Community Day: A free, limited-time research is also part of the event. To receive it, you must log in during the Community Day. You have one week to complete the research. As rewards, you can gain Kwaks with a special background. Additionally, the chance of a shiny is further increased here.
For $2 (about 2 €), you can also purchase a special research. This includes rewards of 3 encounters with Kwaks with a special background, regular encounters with Kwaks, 1 premium battle pass, 1 special candy, and additional rewards.
With the start of the event, Bailonda can also learn the charged move Dance of the Waves.
Who is the Community Day with Kwaks suitable for?
For collectors: If you have not yet obtained Kwaks and its evolutions, then the event is the perfect opportunity for that. Not only can you catch the Pokémon and enough candies, but also collect the shiny variants.
For fighters: Currently, Bailonda is not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO in raids or battle leagues. With the Community Day, the Pokémon learns the strong charged move Hydro Cannon, which could make it stronger. How exactly the move will perform will only become clear with the start of the event.
The perfect preparation for the Community Day in July 2025
Clear out your Pokémon box: To fully enjoy the event, you need plenty of space in your box to catch many Pokémon. So, you should ensure in advance that you have enough capacity. If you encounter space issues during the event, use this simple trick to quickly filter out Pokémon.
Gather enough items: Besides space in the Pokémon box, you also need the right items to make the most of the event. Pay special attention to:
- Balls: Gather enough balls to catch many Kwaks.
- Sanana Berries: Every catch during the event gives you double the amount of candies. If you additionally use Sanana Berries, you will receive four times the amount of candies per catch. The silver Sanana Berry gives you even more candies.
- Lure and incense: Both items not only bring you more Pokémon but also have an increased duration of 3 hours during the event.
Which Mega Pokémon are worth it for the event? With the right Mega Evolution of the Water type, you can gain additional experience points and candies per catch.
The following Mega Evolutions are of the Water type and are thus suitable for the bonus during the event:
- Proto-Kyogre
- Mega-Swalot
- Mega-Blastoise
- Mega-Gyarados
- Mega-Lapras
