What kind of event is this? The community day is an event that takes place every month. A specific Pokémon is featured, which you can encounter in a very high number during the event. In addition to an increased chance of encountering shiny specimens, there are also strong bonuses that are part of the event.
During the community day in August 2024, Robball is the star of the day. The starter Pokémon from the 7th generation is of the water type and can first evolve into Marikeck and then into Primarene.

More content during the community day: After the event officially ends, you have from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to participate in 4*-raids. Here you can challenge and defeat Marikeck. If you succeed, around the arena, additional Robball will appear for 30 minutes. You can only complete these raids on-site.
For $1 (approximately €1), you can also purchase a special research. Here you will encounter not only additional encounters with Primarene but also items like a lucky egg, 3 special candies, ultra balls, and more.
Starting from this community day, Primarene can also learn the charged attack Schaumserenade.
Who is the Community Day with Robball worth it for?
For collectors: If you are unable to register Robball and its evolutions in your Pokédex yet, this event is the perfect opportunity for you. Since both the number of Robball spawns and the amount of candy you receive are significantly increased, you can easily catch up on the entries during this event.
If you are interested in shinies, this event is also a good opportunity for you. With the increased shiny chance, you should have no problem getting one or another specimen.
For fighters: Robball and its evolutions are not the best attackers for raids and thus are also not found in the list of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. There are indeed better Pokémon for this. However, with the attack update, it could gain more relevance.
In the battle leagues, neither Robball nor its evolutions have played a significant role so far. However, since Primarene will receive a very good charged attack Aquahaubitze during this community day, it could see much more utility from this point on.
The perfect preparation for the community day in August 2024
Create space: To catch enough Pokémon, you should create enough space in your Pokémon box in advance. If you need to quickly send Pokémon during the event, there is a simple trick to quickly sort Pokémon.
Prepare items: To make the most of the event, you should also make appropriate preparations with your items.
- Balls: Make sure you have enough balls in your inventory for the community day. If you have problems here, there are tips on how to collect Poké Balls in Pokémon GO.
- Sananabeeren: If you use Sananabeeren, you will receive double the amount of candies when catching Pokémon. Since you already receive double the amount of candies during the community day, you can thus get four times the amount of candies.
- Incense and Lure Module: By using these items, you can additionally increase the number of Robball you encounter. Moreover, both items have an increased duration of 3 hours when activated during the event.
Which Mega Pokémon are worth it for the event? If you want to further increase the amount of candies and experience points, you can activate a suitable Mega evolution for the event. Since Robball is of the water type, you can rely on the following Mega Pokémon:

- Mega-Blastoise
