The Community Day in May 2025 is coming up in Pokémon GO. We’ll show you how to make the most of the event.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day is an event that takes place every month. During this event, there is one Pokémon that is the focus and appears in very high numbers. Additionally, the event brings some bonuses and an increased shiny chance.
In May 2025, Pamo is waiting for you. The monster is from Generation 9 and is of the Electric type. It can evolve into Pamamo and then into Pamomamo.

Community Day in May 2025 with Pamo – Start & Bonuses of the Event
When? Sunday, May 11, 2025 – From 14:00 to 17:00
Exclusive Attack: Charged Attack Breakthrough for Pamomamo when you evolve Pamamo during the event or in the following week
Evolution: By May 18, 2025, at 22:00, you only need to walk 1 km with Pamamo to evolve it into Pamomamo

– 1/4 distance for hatching eggs

– Double the chance for XL candies when catching Pokémon from level 31

Further content of the Community Days: If you open the game during the Community Day, you will receive a free, limited-time research task. You have until May 18, 2025, at 22:00 to complete it. As a reward, you will encounter Pamo with a special background.
For $2 (about 2 €), there is the option to purchase a special research task. Here you will receive, among other things, 3 encounters with Pamo with a special background, encounters with regular Pamo, 1 premium battle pass, and 1 XL special candy.
Additionally, there will be relevant field research tasks and PokéStop showcases waiting for you during the event.
Furthermore, during the event, 2 event boxes will be available that you can get for PokéCoins. The first box ….

Who is the Community Day with Pamo worthwhile for?
For collectors: If you are missing Pamo and its evolutions in your regular or shiny Pokédex, then this event is the perfect opportunity to fill those gaps.
Due to the high number of Pamo at the event and the increased shiny chance, there will likely be no better opportunity than the Community Day.
For fighters: Pamo and its evolutions are not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. This evolutionary line is not particularly suitable for either the battle league or raids.
The perfect preparation for the Community Day in May 2025
Create Space: To catch as many Pamo as possible, you need enough space in your Pokémon box. So make sure to clear out space beforehand. If you still reach your capacity during the event, there is a simple trick, with which you can quickly sort Pokémon.
Prepare Items: You should also have enough items to make the most of the event.
- Balls: Gather enough balls before the event to have the chance to catch each Pamo.
- Razz Berries: During the event, you will receive double the amount of candies for each catch. If you also use a Razz Berry while catching, you will receive quadruple the amount of candies per catch.
- Lure Module and Incense: If you use incense or a lure module during the event, the duration is increased to a full 3 hours. This way, you can attract even more Pamo.
Which Mega Pokémon are worthwhile for the event? The right Mega Evolution can also be advantageous during the event. This will give you not only additional experience points but also extra candy when catching a Pamo.
Since the monster is of the Electric type, you need a Mega Evolution of this type to benefit from the additional bonuses:
- Mega Manectric
- Mega Ampharos
