In Pokémon GO everything indicates that the third generation won’t take long to arrive. We have taken a closer look at the Pokédex and would like to present you the Pokémon of the third generation.
The release of the third generation in Pokémon GO is just around the corner. The third generation is based on the games Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, which took us to the Hoenn region. In total, this edition introduced 135 new Pokémon to the franchise, most of whom we may also welcome in Pokémon GO.
The first Generation-3 Pokémon are already coming to Pokémon GO with Halloween – fitting for the Festival of Ghosts, these are Ghost-type Pokémon.
It is high time to get ready for the new monsters and take a closer look at the Pokédex. We have examined the monsters of the third generation and considered what they could mean for Pokémon GO.
This includes Pokémon with special backgrounds such as the starters and legendary ones, as well as currently highly rated Pokémon like Salamence.

The Starter Pokémon and their Evolutions
Traditionally, each trainer may choose one of three starter Pokémon at the beginning of their journey. In Pokémon GO, it works a bit differently. The starter Pokémon of the second generation can only be caught or hatched from eggs.
The official starters for Pokémon GO are from Generation 1: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle – this has not changed even after the release of the second generation.
Currently, it is assumed that Niantic will keep it this way and you will have to catch the three starters from Generation 3 – or receive them from an egg. To develop and strengthen the starters, the Buddy System is available.
