The Galar Expedition is coming to Pokémon GO. And it offers you the opportunity to catch some new Shinies.
What kind of event is this? The Galar Expedition event starts on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM and runs until Friday, October 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
In addition to some wild Pokémon and other content, there are mainly 4 legendary Pokémon that you can find for the first time in their Shiny forms during the event.
Three Birds and a Wolf
Which Pokémon will be available as Shiny for the first time? The first of the new Shiny Pokémon is the legendary monster Zamazenta. You can challenge and catch this Pokémon in 5* raids.
Additionally, by using your Adventure Incense starting from the event, you can also encounter the 3 rare, legendary Galar birds in their Shiny variants for the first time.
Which Pokémon will appear in the wild? While you are active during the event, the following Pokémon may appear in the wild:
- Nidoran♂*
- Nidoran♀*
- Abra*
- Magnemite*
- Wailmer*
- Seemops*
- Stollunior*
- Tanhel*
- Sheinux*
- Tarnpignon*
- Dedenne*
- Wolly*
- Chansey* (rare)
- Absol* (rare)
- Emolga* (rare)
Pokémon marked with a * can also be encountered in their Shiny variants with a bit of luck.
New Master Ball – But Not for Everyone
Masterpiece Research: For $7.99 (about €8), you can purchase a special research. Upon completing it, you can look forward to the following rewards:
- 1 Master Ball
- 18,000 XP
- 10,000 Stardust
- Encounters with Galar Porenta and Galar Pantimos
Adventure Incense: Starting from the event, you can not only attract the 3 Galar birds in their Shiny forms with Adventure Incense, but also other Pokémon. The specifics of which Pokémon are not yet known.
Additional Content: The event will also feature Collector Challenges, where you need to catch and evolve Pokémon.
As a reward, you will receive experience points, Ultra Balls, and encounters with event Pokémon.
There will also be Field Research tasks again, where you will be rewarded with experience points, Stardust, and further encounters with event monsters.
You can also participate in suitable PokéStop showcases with your event Pokémon.
You can also purchase a Raid Box in the Pokémon GO Web Store. This costs $4.99 (about €5) and includes 3 Remote Raid Passes and one Premium Battle Pass.
