For Pokémon GO trainers, there is a photography competition in the coming weeks where you can win cool prizes. Among other things, there are Pokémon GO Plus wristbands to be won, which allow you to comfortably spin stops and catch monsters without looking at your smartphone.
To participate, simply use the AR feature of the game and create a cool photo. With a bit of luck, you might be one of the winners.
Photography Contest in Pokémon GO and Instagram
The photo contest in Pokémon GO is looking for the best AR photos. Niantic challenges you to take photos and share them on Instagram with the hashtag #PokemonGOcontest.
To win, your AR photo must be selected as one of the ten best submissions. So be creative and try to take a photo that not everyone takes. The images will be judged by Niantic. The following criteria count:
- Originality of the photo = 33.34%
- Creativity of the photo = 33.33%
- Aesthetic entertainment value of the photo = 33.33%
Win, Win, Win: If you submit one of the ten best photos, you win a Pokémon GO prize package. This consists of:
- A Pokémon GO Plus wristband
- A poster signed by the Pokémon GO team and
- A wireless Bluetooth headset
Until when can you participate? You shouldn’t wait too long with the photo, as the “submission deadline” is on October 26, 2017. Only photos for this contest submitted to Instagram by October 25, 2017, at 11:59 PM California time (October 26 at 08:59 AM German time) with the hashtag #PokemonGOContest will be counted.
Participation Rules of the AR Photography Contest
To clarify further questions, we include a few of the official participation rules from Niantic here.
- Participate – No people in photos! During the contest period, use the Augmented Reality (AR) camera feature of the Pokémon GO application on your mobile device and take an AR photo showing you catching a Pokémon while using the Pokémon GO application. Photos that feature or identify a natural person will not be considered and will be deemed invalid.
- Max 3 photos and 1 Instagram account: Limitation to three (3) photo submissions per participant using a single (1) Instagram account throughout the contest period.
- Photo Requirements:
- It must not be degrading, offensive, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or contain any content that is inappropriate, obscene, sexual in nature, blasphemous, unlawful, defamatory, or discriminatory in any way or promotes hatred or harm against a person or group of people or contradicts the subject and spirit of this contest.
- It must not contain any content, materials, or elements that are unlawful or otherwise violate or conflict with applicable laws and regulations at the federal, state, provincial, or local level in the countries or other jurisdictions in which the entry is created.
- It must not contain any content (excluding sponsor content as outlined here), materials, or elements that feature advertising, slogans, logos, or trademarks of third parties or otherwise indicate sponsorship or endorsement by a third party or business, or that, in the sponsor’s reasonable discretion, contradict the spirit of the contest.
- It must not contain any content, materials, or elements that violate any third-party rights of privacy or publicity or intellectual property rights of a third party, excluding content and/or materials of the sponsor as outlined here.
- It must be an unpublished original work that does not contain, incorporate or otherwise use any content, materials, or elements, excluding content and/or materials of the sponsor as outlined here, that are owned by a third party or are subject to third-party rights.
