Which shinies are we talking about? In Pokémon GO, the Galar expedition has begun. And possibly its biggest new feature is the appearance of the shiny Galar birds.
This means: Galar Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres can now also be caught in their shiny variant. But that’s anything but easy.
What makes the shinies so rare? So far, there is only one way to encounter the Galar birds: the daily adventure incense. When activated while walking around, you get more spawns for 15 minutes, some of which are special Pokémon.
Among them are the Galar birds – only that there is generally a very small chance that they appear within those 15 minutes. Usually, the incense runs out without a bird showing up. They are extremely rare.
Now the shinies are in the game – but the chance that the rare birds also appear shiny is, of course, even lower. They are likely to be among the currently rarest shinies in the game. Nevertheless, a few players have already shown: They got lucky.
Have you caught a shiny Galar bird yet?
Players show: Some posts in the social media of the Pokémon GO community prove that the shiny birds at least exist.
At the same time, many memes circulate about how one will probably search forever until one appears – at least in most cases.
An interesting aspect: The shiny monsters apparently do not flee when encountered. This is a big advantage over the normal Galar birds, as they have an extremely high flee rate in the wild.
Also interesting: Some players emphasize that you should best check where you have already encountered a Galar bird. The monsters would then appear there again later. However, this has not yet been concretely confirmed.

Another tip regarding the adventure incense: The item is also influenced by the adventure effect of the move “Time Noise” from Dialga. If you use this effect, you can pause the timer of your items for a few minutes – including that of the adventure incense. This way, you can extend the time a bit while you are searching.
