In June, the rewards for field research in Pokémon GO rotate again. You can expect a familiar legendary monster.
For your research breakthroughs in Pokémon GO, you will be rewarded with special monster encounters. So far, you were able to catch Lavados and Zapdos.
The assumptions are true: Players had previously suspected that after Zapdos and Lavados, Articuno would also return as a reward. As Niantic now explains, that is correct.
Articuno as a reward in June
Since the introduction of research in Pokémon GO, trainers can earn a stamp of field research daily. If you collect seven stamps, a reward awaits you. In April it was Lavados, in May it’s Zapdos and in June you will be rewarded with the legendary ice and flying Pokémon Articuno for a research breakthrough.
When do the new researches start? Starting from June 1st at 1:00 PM PDT (which is 10:00 PM German time), new field researches will be unlocked. These will have the theme “Water”. In the in-game announcement, Niantic explains that Pokémon like Krabby, Kingler, and Seel will be highlighted. These will likely be part of the new tasks or perhaps even the rewards.
What comes after Articuno? The community continues to assume that the rewards for research breakthroughs change monthly. So there should be a new reward again in July. Whether it continues with Entei, Suicune, and Raikou is still unclear.
Anyone who doesn’t have a Zapdos should hurry
If you haven’t reached a research breakthrough in May yet and really want a Zapdos, you should hurry. There are only a few days left until Zapdos as a reward disappears again. It is unclear when the Pokémon will return to Pokémon GO and how long it will last.
