Regional Pokémon
We already know these special Pokémon from the first generation. With the addition of Generation 2 and Generation 3, this list has been expanded.
You can usually find regional Pokémon only in specific places around the world. In Europe, for example, we have Pantimos, which other regions like America or Asia typically lack. To catch these Pokémon, you must travel to their native region to find them in the wild.
However, Niantic has already proven that there are exceptions in this category. These Pokémon can rotate during special events or can be found temporarily in other locations. For example, there was a regional catch contest where Porenta (which is originally from East Asia) became available worldwide for a short period.
These regional Pokémon are known:
- Tauros – North America
- Pantimos – Europe
- Kangama – Australia
- Porenta – East Asia (Japan, South Korea, etc.)
- Skaraborn – South America, southern Texas/Florida
- Corasonn – Spawns in the tropics between 31N and 26S
- Relicanth – New Zealand, Fiji
- Sengo – Europe, Asia, and Australasia
- Vipitis – North America, South America, Africa
- Lunastein – Europe, Asia, and Australasia
- Sonnfel – North America, South America, and Africa
