Players of Pokémon GO who own one of the “Let’s GO” games can be happy: With the use of the Mystery Box, you now get more Meltan.
What is the Mystery Box? The Mystery Box attracts Meltan for 30 minutes. It is the only way to get Meltan outside of the Special Research for Meltan. The Mystery Box works like incense and periodically attracts Meltan.
The effectiveness of the Mystery Box has now been enhanced. It attracts more Meltan than before. Niantic announced this via Twitter.
Trainers get more Meltan
How many Meltan do you get now? You now get significantly more Meltan than before. Trainers have already reported catching more than 20 Meltan within the 30 minutes.
How do you get the Mystery Box? You can only get the Mystery Box if you also own the game Let’s GO Pikachu or Let’s GO Eevee on the Nintendo Switch. If you transfer a Pokémon from your “Pokémon GO” account to the account of your “Let’s GO” game, you receive a Mystery Box as a reward.
Why did they increase the effectiveness? To evolve Meltan into Melmetal, you need 400 candies. You almost exclusively get these from the Mystery Box. Niantic wants to give players the opportunity to access Melmetal faster.
If you now get 20 Meltan from a Mystery Box and catch all with a Sananabeere, you will receive 120 candies per box. Plus the candy for sending. You will now finish significantly faster.
That’s why players are upset: Some players are now upset. The Mystery Box can only be obtained once a week. Some players used their Mystery Box shortly before the news from Niantic.
They would have appreciated an announcement before the change. That way, they could have planned the use of their box.
