Legendary Pokémon are undoubtedly among the most popular monsters that you can obtain in Pokémon GO. They are usually not only rare but also often belong to the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
The Dynamax debut for a legendary monster has now been announced. Accordingly, there is a Dyna-battle weekend celebrating the debut on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 6:00 AM to Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 9:00 PM.
The Leader of the Legendary Birds
Which monster is it? During the Dyna-battle weekend, you can obtain Lugia for the first time in its Dynamax form. Lugia is a legendary monster from Generation 2 and has the types Psychic and Flying.
It forms a duo with Ho-Oh and is considered the leader of the 3 legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
To obtain the legendary bird, you must challenge and defeat it in Dynamax Raids during the event. Afterwards, you can catch it. If you get lucky, you might also receive the Shiny variant of Dynamax Lugia right away.
What contents are available at the event? As usual, there are some bonuses that accompany the event with Dynamax Lugia. They are as follows:
- Dynamax Lugia appears at power sources
- the collection limit for Dyna particles is increased to 1,600
- walking distance for Dyna particles is reduced by 75%
- power sources refresh more frequently
- 8 times the amount of Dyna particles from power sources
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6:00 AM, a free, limited-time research will also be unlocked. Here you can obtain a Dyna-Gastly among other things. If you evolve Gastly into Gengar, you will have a strong attacker against Lugia.
You have until Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 9:00 PM to complete the research and collect the rewards.
