In Pokémon GO, you can soon dive into Dynamax battles. The first trainers report that some parts of the feature have already been unlocked for them.
What is this feature? Dynamax is the new big feature, which is already present in the main games and is now being unlocked in the new season for Pokémon GO.
While the corresponding event for the feature starts on September 10, 2024, at 10:00 and unlocks the Dynamax battles, the first trainers on Reddit report that individual functions of the new feature are already active for them.
Preparation for the Dynamax Battles
Power Sources and Dyna-Particles: The perhaps most important functions, which are already active for some trainers, are the power sources and Dyna-particles. The power sources are spots that appear separately from PokéStops and gyms.
To obtain the Dyna-particles needed for challenging Dynamax raids and also for strengthening Dynamax attacks, you can visit the power sources. You also receive the particles by walking each 2 km.

The creator of the post also reports that there are 120 particles per power source. Each spot can be visited once a day.
So it is already possible for these trainers to collect the particles to be prepared for the start of Dynamax battles on September 10.
Dynamax Attacks: The special research, in which you can receive your first Dynamax Pokémon, is already active for the trainers. Since the first trainers have already completed this special research, there are also the first images of the Dynamax attacks.
There are 3 Dynamax attacks. The first one deals damage, the second reduces the damage of the opposing raid boss, and the third heals the Pokémon of the trainers participating in the raid.
While the first attack is already unlocked for catching the Pokémon, unlocking the other two attacks costs 400 particles and 50 candies of the Pokémon each.
To increase the attacks to the maximum level 3, an additional 1,400 particles, 100 candies, and 40 XL candies of the Pokémon are needed.

For which trainers has the feature already been unlocked? According to user comments on Reddit, the trainers for whom the feature has already been unlocked are in New Zealand and Australia.
This fits with the typical strategy that Niantic uses to roll out new features of Pokémon GO. These are usually first unlocked there and then gradually in the rest of the world.
In the meantime, the function has also been activated in our regions, so you can now also head out to complete the special research and collect particles.
