In Pokémon GO the next event featuring a monster debut is coming up. And it also brings a global challenge with it.
What kind of event is this? The event is called Skyscraper made of Steel
. It starts on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM and runs until Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 8:00 PM.
In addition to the debut of Duraludon, the Dragon-Steel monster from Generation 8, it also brings a global challenge as well as a few more monsters.

How do I obtain Duraludon? The new monster Duraludon will be released directly as a Dynamax monster in the event. You can challenge it in 4-star Dynamax raids, defeat it, and add it to your collection. If you are lucky, you might also get the shiny variant of the monster.
If you complete event field research, you can also receive an encounter with Dynamax Duraludon as a reward.
In the main series of Pokémon games, Duraludon has an evolution called Briduradon. Whether the evolution will also be available at launch in Pokémon GO is currently unknown.
How do the global challenges work? Global challenges have also been announced for the event. All trainers worldwide will have to complete field research together and prove their throwing skills. How exactly the tasks regarding throwing skills will look and how many field research must be completed is not yet known.
As a reward, there are 3 levels that bring different bonuses, which will be active until the end of the event. These are:
- Level 1: additional candies for good, great, and excellent throws (for all trainers) as well as increased chances for XL candies with these throws (from level 31)
- Level 2: additional 5,000 experience points when a raid is successfully completed
- Level 3: one guaranteed special candy XL for successful Dyna raids that were completed locally

Other content of the event: The event will also bring event field research back. Additionally, there will be a free, limited-time research in which you can receive 1 Magnet Lure Module, experience points, stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
For $1.99 (about €2.49), you can also purchase another limited-time research. In this, you will receive Dyna particles, stardust, a guaranteed encounter with Dynamax Duraludon, as well as further, currently unspecified, rewards. If you purchase the research in the Pokémon GO web store, you will also receive 3 golden Razz Berries additionally.
