Pokémon GO is a particularly successful mobile game. With over 1.2 billion dollars in revenue and more than 752 million downloads, it is clear how popular the game is. The game was released in summer 2016 and generated 950 million dollars in revenue in the same year. In August 2016, Pokémon GO reached a peak of 100 million monthly users in this category.
Just a few days ago, the game received the largest update in its history. Such content updates motivate trainers to stay in the (Poké) ball and continue the hunt for Snorlax, Lapras, and others. However, it’s not just teenagers who are often hunting for the little pocket monsters.
About 32% of players are up to 18 years old. 38% of all players are between 19 and 34 years old. Even among the older demographic, the game finds its fans who are often on the go and can frequently offer younger players some tips. According to Apptopia, around 60% of players are male and 40% are female.
In our Pokémon GO Facebook group, trainers often exchange information about the game, help with problems, and share their adventures.
Even after the big hype in summer 2016, our readers on Mein-MMO.de still regularly play the augmented reality hit and go out daily to hunt for new monsters and additional PokéStops.
In a survey, we asked you how often you play Pokémon GO. So far, about 1300 readers have participated in the survey, of which 43% still play daily and 19% have since stopped playing Pokémon GO.
