During the next Community Day in Pokémon GO, your Dragonite can learn a new move.
We are approaching the next Community Day in Pokémon GO in great strides. After there were special Pikachu with the Surf move during the first Community Day, you will find many more Dratini than usual next. The second Community Day will take place on February 24, 2018, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Additionally, the evolution of these dragons will master a special move. The developers have now revealed what it is.
Draco Meteor – The special move of Dragonite
Initially, the developers only announced for the second Community Day that there will be special Dratini. Other bonuses include extended Lure Modules that make it easier to hunt for the Pokémon.
Niantic has now announced which move will be featured during the second Community Day and how it can be learned.
If players collect enough Dratini during the Community Day, they will receive enough candies to evolve them into Dragonite. This can then master the Draco Meteor move.
The move Draco Meteor has existed since the 4th generation and belongs to the Dragon type. Until now, Dragonite could not learn this move. Trainers from the TheSilphRoad community rate it as “weaker than Outrage,” another charge move of Dragonite. Nevertheless, you should secure such a Dragonite with Draco Meteor. If the Pokémon GO team increases the damage values of this move in the future, such a special Dragonite will be valuable. Also, the move looks cool in the game!
It is currently assumed that older Dratini and Dragonair caught before the event can also evolve into a Dragonite with the Draco Meteor move.
It is important that you evolve Dragonair during the event time. The developers emphasize this once again. Only then can Dragonite truly learn the new move. You only have a time window of three hours on this day.
Draco Meteor cannot be learned through TMs
In the community, after the announcement of the Draco Meteor move, the question arose whether this can also be learned through TMs. Here, the developers emphasize that this is not possible. Neither TMs for Fast moves nor TMs for Charge moves can teach Pokémon the exclusive Community Day moves.
For a Pokémon to master this move, it must be evolved or caught during the time window on Community Day.
