In Pokémon GO, you earn experience points for your character for various actions in the game, such as catching or evolving Pokémon. But what are these points needed for and what rewards do you get when you’ve accumulated experience points for an entire trainer level?

Experience Points and Level-Ups in Pokémon GO
You need experience points in Pokémon GO in order to level up. The required experience points increase with each level. It takes longer to level up in the higher levels than in the earlier levels. The higher your trainer level is, the greater the chance that you will catch strong Pokémon with high CP values.
To provide extra motivation for level-ups, you receive a reward each time you reach a new level. At various levels, such as level 5, you also unlock items that you can then use in the game. At level 5, this is the “Revive,” which allows you to bring back Pokémon that have fainted.
Below you can see how much experience (XP) is needed for each level-up, what rewards you get for free, and which items you unlock.
