What Niantic might mean with the email
This is what Niantic wrote: “Trainers, we have news for you! We have heard reports of a migration pattern that may affect Pokémon that were first discovered in the Hoenn region. Perhaps we’ll know more about this later in the month…”
What is a migration pattern? The discussion point is the migration pattern. In English, it is called “migration pattern”. What exactly it means can only be guessed. One thing is for sure: it involves Pokémon from Generation 3.
Are regional Pokémon being swapped? Players are divided about this email. They have different theories. Reddit user “thebiggestleaf” writes: “I guess they will swap regional Pokémon like Volbeat and Illumise or Sengo and Vipitis. I hope it’s something more extensive than that, but I think that’s a start.”
A swap of regional Pokémon seems most likely when speaking of migration. Especially Volbeat and Illumise sound plausible, as they have never been swapped before.
Is there a return of legendary Pokémon? Other players see in this email the announcement for the Weather Trio, which is supposed to return in raids. “castiel0504” writes on Reddit: “Give us back the Weather Trio!”
The return of Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Groudon also sounds logical. Niantic might release the three legendaries in different regions of the world and rotate them. This has been handled similarly with the legendary dogs.
When will we know more? It remains exciting in Pokémon GO, and we can look forward to news from the Hoenn region later this month. Possibly, when the Egg Event ends and Heatran disappears from raids. This happens on January 15.
Update: Meanwhile, there is also a German post in the newsletter. This speaks of a migration pattern that impacts the appearance of Pokémon. Whether this was simply poorly translated, or what this message means, is unclear.
