The raids for the EX raid boss Deoxys have been running in Pokémon GO for a few hours. Already, duos are bringing him to his knees.
In autumn, the new boss Deoxys moved into the EX raid arenas of Pokémon GO. This boss replaced Mewtwo, which had previously been the opponent in these exclusive raid battles for about a year.
2 people are enough: Instead of struggling against the new monster, trainers demonstrate that victory can also be achieved with just two players.
Strong friendship brings a lot of power
The first EX raids for Deoxys started on October 1st. It quickly becomes clear that not many attackers are needed to defeat the boss.
Duo videos are currently popular: Videos where trainers defeat the new EX raid boss as a duo are currently trending. The following clip makes it clear that a victory is easily achievable with the right preparation.
It wasn’t even close: Trainers Th6EvilDead and BigSheesh defeated Deoxys with plenty of time left on the clock.
Why does it look so easy? A significant factor affecting damage is the strong friendship between the challengers, as strong friendship provides a damage bonus. As PokémonGOHub reports, the two trainers in the displayed video are Hyper Friends in Pokémon GO, which corresponds to a 7% damage bonus for the attackers.
The right counters are particularly important: The attacking team consisted of strong counter Pokémon, which executed very effective attacks against Deoxys. Tyranitar with a moveset of Bite and Crunch is very strong. Both are Dark-type moves, which Deoxys is vulnerable to. Also in the team were Scizor, Gengar, and Mewtwo. We show you the strongest counters against Deoxys here.
With weather boost: Another video of the battle against Deoxys shows how easy it can be in the right weather.
Easy fight as a duo: On Reddit, user brianjmoran commented on this video: “If you have two players with good counters around level 30, a duo victory shouldn’t be a problem.”
The fight against Deoxys is therefore not particularly hard and should not pose a significant challenge for your raid team with the right attackers.
