At the beginning of 2021, data miners discovered an image showing Lapras wearing a bow tie in Pokémon GO. Now this event Pokémon has received stats and many suggest that it could be appearing soon.
What kind of Pokémon is this? The image found in 2021 is titled Lapras Costume 2020 and is also referred to as “Drip Lapras” by the community. In this special event version, Lapras wears a blue bow tie. This skin is based on a plush toy collection that Nintendo released in 2018.
For a long time, this was the only image available in the files. Icons, stats, and further information were missing. However, the PokéMiners have now found new details about Drip Lapras:
- On April 14, a visual update for the Lapras skin was identified
- Today, on May 7, the PokéMiners discovered the stats and abilities
For a short time, the costume also showed the option to be transferred to Pokémon HOME. This option was disabled less than an hour after the data mining.
When will the costume be available in the game? There is currently no official statement on this. Drip Lapras has been in the game’s files for at least a year, and it is possible that it will remain there a bit longer.
However, the water festival will take place from May 12 to May 20. There is no detailed information about this event yet. Many hope that Lapras with the bow tie will make an appearance at this event.
A true gentleman skin that many are waiting for
Why are so many looking forward to Lapras? Drip Lapras is highly anticipated because the bow tie makes the Pokémon a true gentleman.
There is even a dedicated Twitter account named “Where is Drip Lapras” (via Twitter). This account has already tweeted that the news about Drip Lapras has made their day.
What do you think of the Lapras costume? Are you eagerly waiting for the Pokémon with the bow tie?
