Team GO Rocket returns once again to Pokémon GO. It brings you new Crypto-monsters and some strong bonuses.
When does the event start? The event starts on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM and runs until Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
How do I get Crypto-Boreas? With the start of the event, you can obtain Crypto-Boreas (Incarnate Form) for the first time. To do this, you need to complete the special research you receive at the beginning of the event. You will receive a Super Rocket Radar, which allows you to challenge Giovanni.
If you defeat the Rocket Boss, you can then catch the Crypto-Boreas.

What new monsters are there? In addition to the debut of Boreas in its Crypto form, there are several other monsters making their debut in the event. You can hatch Servol, the Psychic-Normal-type Pokémon from Generation 8, for the first time in the game. You can hatch it from 5 km eggs. The monster appears in both male and female forms and can also shine.
Additionally, Rocket Grunts may also have new Crypto-Pokémon with them. For the first time, you can encounter Baldorfish, Wablu, Puppance, and Kapuno in their Crypto variants. Especially Crypto-Kapuno may be interesting for many trainers, as it can evolve into Crypto-Trikehpalo. The regular variant of the monster is already among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Also, the Rocket Leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo are on the move with new monsters. What they possess is still unknown.
What bonuses are there at the event? The event brings you numerous strong bonuses. These include:
- additional candies for nice, great, and excellent throws
- increased chance for XL candies with nice, great, and excellent throws (from level 31)
- halved distance for eggs when they are placed in incubators during the event
- Lunastein and Sonnfel appear more frequently in the wild
- Event field researches with Instant and Charged TMs as well as mysterious components
- Team GO Rocket appears more frequently at PokéStops and balloons**
- the Charged Attack Frustration can be unlearned by using Charged TMs**
- the IVs of Pokémon from Crypto-Raids can be more variable**
