Pokémon GO: Community Day in February with Quiekel – All information

On Saturday, February 16, the Community Day with Swinub starts in Pokémon GO. We will tell you everything about the start time, Shinies, and the bonuses so you can be as prepared as possible.

What are Community Days? Every month, the Community Day takes place in Pokémon GO. Each of these events revolves around a special Pokémon. This Pokémon is found more frequently as a Shiny. Additional bonuses round out the event.

In February 2019, everything revolves around the Pokémon Swinub. We will reveal what awaits you and how you can make the most of the event.

Community Day in February 2019 – GMT+0: Times and Bonuses

This means GMT+0: The Community Day starts, as always, at 11 AM German time. In the in-game notification, it mentions 10 AM, but this refers to the GMT+0 time zone. The German time zone is GMT+1.

Shiny Swinub, Piloswine, and Mamoswine

Is Swinub also available as a Shiny? It can be assumed that Swinub will also be found as a Shiny. So far, every Community Day Pokémon has also been catchable in its shiny version.

This is the chance for a Shiny: The Shiny rate during Community Days is always significantly increased. You will encounter a Shiny Swinub with a chance of 1 in 25. The other Shinies in the wild are found at the normal rate of 1 in 450.

That’s why the Community Day is doubly worthwhile

There are extra bonuses: The Valentine’s Day event, which is currently ongoing, also falls on Community Day. So, not only will you receive triple Stardust, but also double candies when catching Pokémon.

Keep this in mind: The Valentine’s Day event also gives you six-hour Lure Modules. However, activate these only after 11 AM at the PokéStops so that they count for the event.

Sinnoh Stones as a Bonus of Community Days

This is how many Sinnoh Stones you can get: On Saturday, you will have the chance to get 10 Sinnoh Stones. You receive 5 from battles with friends and from team leader battles.

This is how you get the stones: To obtain the Sinnoh Stones, it is sufficient to battle at any time on Saturday. You do not have to battle between 11 AM and 2 PM.

Also battle on Sunday: Even on Sunday after the Community Day, you can earn 5 rewards instead of 3 from battles. So it is worth it to challenge friends on Sunday as well.

This is what you need the Sinnoh Stone for: Especially for the Community Day, the Sinnoh Stone is important. You can only evolve Piloswine using this item. So if you don’t have enough stones yet, you should be ready to battle.

How strong is Mamoswine with Ancient Power?

How can I get the move? This special move can only be learned by Mamoswine between 11 AM and 3 PM on Saturday. The move cannot be learned through TMs. Only the evolution from Swinub to Mamoswine will give you this move in the game.

Without the move, Mamoswine is better: Mamoswine is among the top attackers of types Ground and Ice. The Rock move Ancient Power does not benefit the Pokémon much. Charge moves from Ice and Ground are better.

Interesting for PvP: For trainer battles, the move is quite interesting. It belongs to the moves that increase the stats of the Pokémon.

This CP must your Swinub have – 100% IV values

This is how Swinub gets a weather boost: Swinub is of types Ground and Ice. Therefore, it will be boosted in sunny weather and snow.

How strong is Swinub in the wild? Without a weather bonus, a Swinub can reach a maximum of 635 CP in the wild. This would be a 100% IV Swinub. With a weather bonus, the Pokémon can even reach 688 CP.

You can enter the following list in your search bar in the game. It shows you all potential 100% IV Swinub. A Swinub with a higher level but different IV can also reach the same CP. Therefore, evaluate the Swinub afterward again to be sure.

These items help you on Community Day

• Star Piece – 6 pieces
  • The most important item on Community Day will be the Star Piece. This will give you not only triple dust, but it will also multiply by 1.5. Ideally, you should have 6 Star Pieces since one lasts for 30 minutes.
• Balls – 200 pieces or more
  • To collect as much Stardust as possible, you need to catch many Pokémon. This also requires some balls. So gather a large supply of balls so you can handle the influx of Pokémon.
• GO Plus
  • The GO Plus helps you catch Pokémon. It catches wild Pokémon for you at the push of a button. This way, you can take a break from catching.

• Lure Modules – 3 pieces or more
  • Depending on how many PokéStops are in your vicinity, you should have enough Lure Modules. These attract even more wild Pokémon. If you run out of modules, you can check the current offer boxes.
• Incense – 6 pieces
  • To secure even more Pokémon, you can also use incense. This lasts for half an hour, so six pieces would be optimal.
