In Pokémon GO, Team GO Rocket is back. And they are bringing you a new legendary Crypto-Pokémon that is powerful.
What kind of event is this? Team GO Rocket returns as part of the event “Galar Expedition: Takeover.” The event starts on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 00:00, and ends on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 20:00.
In addition to bonuses you know from previous Rocket takeovers, this time you can expect not only six new Crypto-Pokémon but also a new legendary Crypto-Pokémon. And it is among the strongest attackers in the game.
Finding Giovanni, Getting Pokémon
Which legendary Pokémon is it? At the start of the event, a new special research will begin. In this, you can receive a Super Rocket Radar, which allows you to search for and challenge Giovanni.
If you defeat him, you can subsequently obtain Crypto-Heatran. The regular variant of Heatran is already one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO of the Fire and Steel type. The Crypto variant is therefore an even stronger attacker that you should not miss for your raid teams.
What other new Crypto-Pokémon are there? In addition to Crypto-Heatran, there are six other new Crypto monsters that you can find with the Rocket grunts once the event has started. These Pokémon are:

- Crypto-Sandshrew*
- Crypto-Trubbish*
- Crypto-Funnelbeast*
- Crypto-Bergmite*
Pokémon marked with a * can also be obtained as Shiny with a bit of luck.
What other Pokémon are available in the event? There are also several Pokémon in Crypto Raids that you can challenge and catch.

What bonuses are there in the event? As you are used to from previous Rocket events, you can once again look forward to the following bonuses:
- Team GO Rocket appears more frequently in balloons and PokéStops
- Charge move “Frustration” can be forgotten with a Charge TM
What other content is there in the event? Within the event, you will find field research tasks that reward you with mysterious components, instant and charge TMs.
Additionally, there will again be PokéStop showcases where you can participate with suitable Pokémon for the event. Here, different Pokémon are now strong than what you were used to until recently.
For 300 PokéCoins, you can also purchase a Rocket Box. In this, you will get an incubator, a Rocket Radar, and a Premium Battle Pass.
