Pokémon GO will soon start a new Community Day Classic. The teaser only leads to one conclusion.
Which Pokémon will appear at the Community Day Classic? Pokémon GO has released a teaser (on Instagram) regarding the new Community Day Classic.
The text states, “Which #Pokemon is making a splash this #PokemonGOCommunityDay Classic? 🌊👀,” which due to the word “splash” could initially suggest Magikarp.
But at the end of the video, you can hear a Pokémon cry that sounds very much like Piplup.
Currently, you can expect that Piplup will be the star of the upcoming Community Day Classic.
When does the Community Day Classic take place? The next Community Day Classic is scheduled for January 4, 2026. No further information is available yet regarding the time or bonuses.
Is Piplup worth it in Pokémon GO?
Piplup itself is not that interesting, but its final evolution, Empoleon, is a great Pokémon for battling.
Empoleon is a very good Pokémon for the Super League in PvP, and it is even better in the Ultra League. It is important that it knows the move “Hydro Pump” and it can be expected that it can relearn it during the Community Day Classic.
As a raid and gym attacker, it is also usable, especially in its shadow variant. It is worth collecting candies if you already have a good shadow Piplup, Prinplup, or Empoleon.
What’s next in Pokémon GO? Before January arrives, we still have to get through December! And there are plenty of dates coming up, from the Winter Festival event to the New Year’s event, as well as the typical spotlight and raid events.
