Pokémon GO has brought some small updates that change various displays in the game. However, these can lead to problems.
Time and again, there are updates in Pokémon GO that are supposed to improve various aspects of the game. However, they do not always resonate with the trainers as intended.
This is also the case this time. A new update has adjusted and changed several displays in the game. However, the community does not necessarily see all changes as beneficial.
Berries, Balls, and Monsters
What are the changes? There are several changes that have made their way into the game. For instance, the display of berries and balls has been modified when you are in the catching screen. They are no longer arranged in a strict line, but resemble the arrangement of your item bag.
Moreover, there are changes affecting the display of your Pokémon. Previously, your Pokémon that were caught before the current year had a badge. This allowed you to see immediately that it was an older monster, which is relevant for guaranteed lucky trades.
Additionally, the display of where you caught a Pokémon has now moved up. This display was previously found at the very bottom of the overview with the Pokémon details.
Furthermore, a trainer reported on Reddit about another change. When you are in the trading window, a notification will now appear at the top indicating whether you have already completed the daily special trade of the day or not.
What problems could this update cause? There is some criticism in the community regarding various changes made in the update. The new arrangement of berries and balls, for example, has faced criticism. Trainers have grown accustomed to the arrangement over the years and now need to retrain their muscle memory.
FPG_Matthew commented on Reddit: “As with the change to the item bag, we should have the OPTION to adjust the berry menu as we see fit, so that everyone is satisfied.”.
Further criticism arises concerning the location information, which is now found higher up and could unintentionally reveal one’s residential location. Dran_K said on Reddit: “Position the location information back at the bottom so that screenshots can be shared without accidentally doxxing oneself.”.
If you want to share screenshots of Pokémon in the future without revealing the catching location, you will need to edit the screenshots before sharing.
In the current month, there are again many contents available for you in Pokémon GO. Various events, raids, raid hours, and other contents are waiting for you. To find out what exactly they are and when they take place, check our overview with all events in September 2025 in Pokémon GO.
