A new event has been announced for Pokémon GO. You can expect a new monster and an increased Shiny chance for 2 monsters.
What kind of event is this? The new event is called Total Normal. It will start on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM and run until Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
As the name of the event suggests, Pokémon of the Normal type are in focus. Additionally, the event brings some strong bonuses as well.

Which monster is making its debut? With the start of the event, you can evolve Dummisel into Dummimisel for the first time. In the main Pokémon games, there are 2 forms that Dummisel can evolve into: the two-segment form and the three-segment form of Dummisel.
Which form Dummisel takes here is determined by chance. You can only get the three-segment form with a 1% chance. How exactly this will work in Pokémon GO is not yet known. However, it is assumed that the form will also be randomly determined during the evolution.
To evolve Dummisel, you need 50 candies of the monster.
Which Pokémon have an increased Shiny chance? During the event, you can find 2 monsters easier as Shiny. These are Dummisel and Ditto, fitting with the new evolution. The monsters that Ditto can transform into and encounter will also change starting from the event. Which ones those are is not yet known.
What bonuses are there in the event? In addition to the increased Shiny chance for Dummisel and Ditto, the event brings you 2 more bonuses. These include double the amount of candies when catching Pokémon and double the amount of experience points when evolving monsters.
What monsters are there in the event? If you’re out in the wild during the event, you can find event-related Pokémon. These are:
- Wiesor*
- Dummisel*
- Haspiror*
- Ohrdoch* (rare)
All monsters marked with a * can also appear as Shiny.
Additional contents of the event: The event brings you various field research tasks again, in which you can obtain various items, experience points, and encounters with Pokémon like Miltank, Pandir, and Dummisel. Collector challenges are also part of the event again.
You can also purchase a new item for your avatar in the in-game shop as soon as the event starts. This is a Dummimisel jumpsuit.
For $1.99 (about €2), you can also purchase a paid, limited research task. In this, you will receive 5,000 experience points, 2 Lucky Eggs, and encounters with Dummisel. If you buy the research in the Pokémon GO web store, you will additionally receive 5 Ultra Balls.
