The gift animation in Pokémon GO is now working as intended. Have you thrown any yet?
For the Christmas festivities in Pokémon GO, the developers introduced new features to sweeten the holidays for trainers. The Pokémon Botogel is new to the game and can use the gift attack, like the holiday Pikachu.
In the first few days, however, this attack did not work as the developers had planned.
Gift attack now corrected
Recently, the developers of Pokémon GO updated the game’s Gamemaster file with exactly one change. This change ensures that the attack animation of the gift attack is now displayed as intended.
This means that the Pokémon Botogel and the special holiday Pikachu can now visually throw gifts. It is currently unclear whether this change is permanent and if Pokémon with the gift attack will always throw presents, or if this animation will change again in the future and is just a highlight for the Christmas season.
How the attack now looks in the game due to the new visual is shown by Reddit user thelookofamazement with this screenshot of a Botogel fighting against Dragoran.
Scroll bug in the Pokémon overview annoys trainers
Unfortunately, the developers at Niantic have not yet fixed an annoying issue that is currently generating a lot of discussion in the community.
After sending, evolving, or renaming a Pokémon, the overview display jumps back to the top again.
Niantic has not yet been able to resolve this bug but is working on a solution. The support website states that the team is aware of the issue.
We’re aware of an issue where your Pokémon collection menu loses its scroll position and returns to the top of the screen when you evolve, transfer, or rename a Pokémon.
We hope that the solution will soon come through a small update, and we can manage the Pokémon overview as usual again. A solution for the extreme weather and its related disadvantages in Pokémon GO has already been found.
