The majority revolves around the buddy feature, which was teased a few weeks ago. This should completely overhaul the buddy function. Many details have now been discovered in the game code.
Is the new buddy feature about to be released?
What Niantic introduced: Data miners have discovered that the buddy feature will be available to all players at level 41. However, this level does not actually exist in the game, so no player has access.
This was last introduced by Niantic in Niantic Wayfarer. There, level 41 was initially available, but a few days later, all players at level 40 could gain access.
If this is also the case with the buddy function here, then the feature may appear in just a few days.
These items were found: The data miner Chrales has found items that are related to the feature. Thus, there will soon be souvenirs that your buddy can presumably collect. The souvenirs include flowers, stones, and even a ticket.
In addition, the buddy shows an emotion. Corresponding emojis were found in the code.
This is what the feature can do: For this, data miners found many text passages. From this, the following things can already be deduced:
- Your buddy can give you items
- You can only switch your buddy once per day
- You can see your buddy on the map next to your avatar
- The distance for a candy is reduced when your buddy is happy
- There are buddy levels with different rewards
- If your buddy is hungry, he will not continue walking
- You can take a group photo with buddies of other players
- A hide-and-seek game in AR mode was found
What do these findings mean? Much new about the buddy feature gives hope that it will be released soon. The items are now in the code and could be activated at any time. It remains to be seen whether there will be a new feature this year.
Is an absolute fan favorite coming?

This is why Wurmple is celebrated: A kind of hype has erupted in the community around Wurmple. After numerous hat Pikachu were added, players have asked for some variety and suggested party hat Wurmple. This has now emerged as a sort of running gag with every hat Pikachu. Now it has appeared.
These forms were discovered: In addition to costume Pokémon, new Galar Pokémon were also found. Icons for Galar Zigzagoon and Galar Linoone were added. So they could soon come to the game.
