Pokémon GO: The Assessment of the Team Leaders with Update 0.35 – How Strong are Your Pokémon?

With the new rating feature in Pokémon GO , trainers can better assess their Pokémon.

In Pokémon GO, you can now ask your team leaders to evaluate specific Pokémon from your collection. The rating system, released with Patch 0.35.0 (Android) and Patch 1.5.0 (iOS) for smartphones, is, however, not easy to understand. These ratings are like references, where “always striving” means something quite different than it appears at first glance. We explain what the various phrases about your Pokémon mean.

This is what the team leaders’ phrases say about the Pokémon’s stats (Patch 1.5.0 / 0.35.0)

The various phrases from the team leaders can be confusing. You can have your Pokémon evaluated by clicking on the PokéBall and then tapping on “Pokémon.” From there, select the Pokémon you wish to have evaluated. Then choose the options (bottom right) and tap on “Evaluation.” To help you understand what the ratings say about your Pokémon’s strength, here is an explanation of the various phrases. First comes a general evaluation of the stats – the second evaluation specifically concerns the highest stat – Part 3 addresses the size of the Pokémon.

Candela – Team Valor (Courage)

Candela – Team Valor (Courage) – Part 1 of the evaluation – General evaluation:

• I’m totally impressed by your (Pokemon Name). It can do everything! – 37 to 45 points for the stats – Corresponds to 82% to 100% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is very strong overall. You can be proud! – 30 to 36 points for the stats – Corresponds to 67% to 80% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is quite good overall! – 23 to 29 points for the stats – Corresponds to 51% to 64% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is not too impressive overall in battle, but I still like it! – 0 to 22 points – Corresponds to 0% to 49% of the maximum.

  

Candela – Team Valor (Courage) – Part 2 of the evaluation – Highest stat:

• Its stats blow me away. WOW! – One or more IVs have 15 points (Maximum).
• It has excellent stats! How exciting! – One or more IVs have 13 to 14 points.
• Its stats are not bad! – One or more IVs have 8 to 12 points.
• Its stats won’t help you much in battle. – One or more IVs have 0 to 7 points.

Candela – Team Valor (Courage) – Part 3 of the evaluation – The size:

• Your (Pokemon Name) is gigantic – the largest I’ve ever seen! – Your Pokémon is very large.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is rather sizable, that’s for sure! – Your Pokémon is large.
• Aww, what a small (Pokemon Name)! It’s rather cute, I’d say. – Your Pokémon is small.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is so tiny, I almost didn’t notice it! – Your Pokémon is very small.

Spark – Team Instinct (Intuition)

• Your (Pokemon Name) can take on everyone in battle! – 37 to 45 points for the stats – Corresponds to 82% to 100% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is really strong overall! – 30 to 36 points for the stats – Corresponds to 67% to 80% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is quite good overall. – 23 to 29 points for the stats – Corresponds to 51% to 64% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) can still improve in battle! – 0 to 22 points – Corresponds to 0% to 49% of the maximum.

• Its stats are the best I’ve ever seen! – One or more IVs have 15 points (Maximum).
• Its stats are really high! Impressive! – One or more IVs have 13 to 14 points.
• Its stats are decent! – One or more IVs have 8 to 12 points.
• Its stats are okay. – One or more IVs have 0 to 7 points.

Spark – Team Instinct (Intuition) – Part 3 of the evaluation – The size:

• Your (Pokemon Name) is … HUGE! – Your Pokémon is very large.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is really big! – Your Pokémon is large.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is a bit small, don’t you think? – Your Pokémon is small.
• Whoa, that’s the tiniest (Pokemon Name) I’ve ever seen! – Your Pokémon is very small.

Blanche – Team Mystic (Wisdom)

Blanche – Team Mystic (Wisdom) – Part 1 of the evaluation – General evaluation:

• Your (Pokemon Name) is simply amazing overall. Truly a breathtaking specimen! – 37 to 45 points for the stats – Corresponds to 82% to 100% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) really stood out to me overall. – 30 to 36 points for the stats – Corresponds to 67% to 80% of the maximum.
• Your (Pokemon Name) is a good Pokémon overall. – 23 to 29 points for the stats – Corresponds to 51% to 64% of the maximum.

• Its stats are so high I can’t even calculate them! Unbelievable! – One or more IVs have 15 points (Maximum).
• Its stats are quite impressive. – One or more IVs have 13 to 14 points.
• Its stats are noticeably trending to the positive. – One or more IVs have 8 to 12 points.
• Its stats are not out of the norm, in my opinion. – One or more IVs have 0 to 7 points.

Blanche – Team Mystic (Wisdom) – Part 3 of the evaluation – The size:

• The size of your Pokémon is … colossal. This is indeed exceptional. Fascinating! – Your Pokémon is very large.
• Your Pokémon is above average in size. – Your Pokémon is large.
• Your Pokémon is below average in size. – Your Pokémon is small.
• Your Pokémon is tinier than any we have on record. Astounding. – Your Pokémon is very small.

How meaningful are these evaluations of the team leaders?

Through the evaluations of the team leaders, you have a better idea of how strong or weak your various Pokémon are. Although you do not see exactly what IV stats your Pokémon have, you can better assess them now. This allows you to roughly separate the Pokémon in your collection to decide which are better suited for battle.
