In this overview, we want to show you Pokémon that are a good choice for the battle against Articuno.
Articuno Overview – CP and Weaknesses
When is the Articuno Day? The event with Articuno takes place on July 7 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Articuno is a legendary raid boss of level 5. You probably need at least four trainers to defeat it. With a top selection of attackers, you might even manage it with just two trainers.
Boss CP: Articuno belongs to the Flying and Ice type and has a CP of 37606.
Shiny Articuno: During the event, you have the chance to catch Articuno in its shiny form.
Weaknesses: Articuno is particularly vulnerable to Rock-type attacks. Fire, Electric, and Steel also deal a lot of damage to this Flying and Ice Pokémon.
Articuno Counters – Best Attackers
The best attacker against Articuno: Tyranitar! Players who evolved their Tyranitar with Smack Down during Community Day can shine during the Articuno Day. Tyranitar with a moveset of Smack Down and Stone Edge is the best counter for Articuno.
Also extremely strong:
- Zapdos is a good choice in sunny weather. The weather in Germany is favorable right now, so we are expecting sunshine over the weekend. Zapdos will benefit from this. You should use it with a moveset of Heat Wave and Overheat.
- Lapras is a good choice if you want to send in a monster that can take more hits. A tank. A moveset of Stone Edge and Avalanche is recommended.
- Golem can also perform well in the battle against Articuno. It doesn’t withstand as much as Lapras but delivers good damage. Its moveset is well suited with Stone Edge and Rock Slide.
Other strong counters for Articuno: If you don’t have enough of the four Pokémon mentioned above in your collection, the following attackers are also recommended:
- Flareon with a moveset of Heat Wave and Overheat or Flamethrower
- Entei as a tank with a moveset of Heat Wave and Overheat
- Raikou with a moveset of Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt
- Metagross as a tank with a moveset of Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
Help, I don’t have any of the mentioned monsters: No problem. The following selection is weaker, but still good against Articuno.
- Shuckle with a moveset of Stone Edge and Avalanche
- Typhlosion with a moveset of Ember and Overheat
- Armaldo with a moveset of Fury Cutter or Ancient Power and Rock Throw
- Shiftry with a moveset of Stone Edge and Avalanche or Rock Slide
- Charizard with a moveset of Heat Wave and Overheat
