Soon, Pokémon GO will be released for the Apple Watch, as confirmed by the developers.
During yesterday’s Apple keynote presentation in San Francisco, Niantic announced that Pokémon GO will soon be available for Apple’s smartwatches. Similar to Pokémon GO Plus, you will have the opportunity to conveniently interact with wild Pokémon and PokéStops using the Apple Watch.
Convenient Interaction with PokéStops
Pokémon GO on the Apple Watch is set to offer brand new possibilities for trainers to integrate their Pokémon adventures into daily life. With the help of Easy Tracker, haptic notifications, and Quick Tabs, interacting with the game should work seamlessly. You can easily connect your “Pokémon GO” adventures with the workouts or activities you monitor with the Apple Watch.
If you pass a PokéStop, you only need to interact with your Apple Watch to collect the rewards from that stop. You can start a measurement on the watch that records distance and time. When you stop the timer, it will show how long you were traveling for that distance and what rewards you received. An overview will list the collected details for you. According to Niantic, Pokémon GO for the Apple Watch will be available “later this year.”
For those who do not want to buy an Apple Watch and are looking for a more affordable alternative to such a gadget, they can look forward to Pokémon GO Plus. The Plus gadget for Pokémon GO is expected to be released in the coming days.
